Mitsubishi Motors owns one marque across one country.

Built as the car arm of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and listed in 1988, it has had no parent company since: Chrysler and then DaimlerChrysler held large stakes without controlling it, and today Nissan is the largest shareholder, with Mitsubishi Corporation close behind.
