Eight years, one owner

The year is coloured by whoever held it at the time.

  1. 2018 Changan put a multi-brand structure in place in 2018 and released Kaicheng to the public as one of four business brands, alongside Changan passenger cars, its mid-to-high-end car brand and Oushang: 「正式对外发布长安乘用车、中高端乘用车、欧尚汽车、凯程汽车四大业务品牌」. It was Changan's commercial-vehicle brand from the start, and it was selling cars under the badge the following year, when the Kaicheng F70 pickup was among the launches of 2019. No company of the name existed for either of those years; Changan established one in 2020, and the brand is sold abroad as CHANGAN LCV.
  2. 2020 Changan moved its commercial-vehicle business out of its own books and into a company of the brand's name. In 2020 it established 重庆长安凯程汽车科技有限公司 jointly with Chongqing Linkong Development Investment Group, a Chongqing state investment company, with registered capital of RMB 1 billion, contributing the equity of its Hebei Changan and Baoding Changan Bus plants along with cash for 83.64% of the new company. Changan consolidated it from that year. Nobody else took control of anything: the brand had been Changan's since it was released in 2018 and still is, and the outside shareholder came in as a minority.
Changan 4 marques

Changan names its own brands rather than buying them, and the joint ventures on its books build Fords and Mazdas for China. The state owns it through a chain of holding companies that were renamed and then split apart in 2025, which leaves the listed company itself as the name anyone outside China recognises.
