  1. 2023 Geely Auto Group launched Geely Galaxy at an event in Hangzhou on 23 February 2023, with the Galaxy L7 plug-in hybrid SUV and the Galaxy Light concept. It began as a product series inside the Geely brand and was upgraded to a brand of its own in March 2025, by which point cumulative sales had passed a million cars. Neither step moved any ownership: the badge has belonged to the Hong Kong-listed Geely Automobile Holdings from the day it was created, and in 2025 it sold 1,235,807 cars, reaching a million annual sales faster than any other new-energy brand in China. Geely Automobile Holdings’ own annual report for 2023 dates the launch to March 2023 rather than February.
