- 1963 Ferruccio Lamborghini founded the car company at Sant'Agata Bolognese in 1963.
- 1981 The Mimran Group of Patrick and Jean-Claude Mimran bought Automobili Lamborghini out of the bankruptcy declared at the end of 1978, under which a court-appointed administrator had run the company, and carried it on as Nuova Automobili Ferruccio Lamborghini S.p.A. Lamborghini itself dates the new ownership to 1981; Jalopnik gives July 1980. Neither the bankrupt company's previous shareholders nor the Mimran Group has a record in this dataset.
- 1987 Chrysler Corporation, under Lee Iacocca, bought Automobili Lamborghini from the Mimran Group in April 1987 for about 25 million dollars. Chrysler Corporation is not the Chrysler marque record in this dataset and has no record of its own.
