95 years, one owner since 1980

The year is coloured by whoever held it at the time.

1. 1931 Ferdinand Porsche founded his engineering office in Stuttgart in 1931, the origin of the Porsche car business.
2. 2007 Porsche's car business was spun off into a separate company with effect from 31 July 2007, and that company took the name Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG.
3. 2009 Volkswagen took 49.9 percent of Porsche Zwischenholding GmbH, the company holding all of Porsche AG, on 7 December 2009 by subscribing to a capital increase of about 3.9 billion euros under the basic agreement of 13 August 2009. Porsche SE kept 50.1 percent of the votes but, under the implementing agreements and the articles of association, lost control under IFRS and from that date treated the company as a joint venture of Porsche SE and Volkswagen. The new shares were subscribed rather than bought from a seller.
4. 2012 Volkswagen took Porsche SE's remaining 50.1 percent of Porsche's operating business on 1 August 2012, making Porsche AG wholly owned by Volkswagen, in which Porsche SE held the majority of the votes.
5. 2022 Porsche AG's preference shares began trading on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange under the ticker P911 on 29 September 2022.
